On July 2, the 6th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Business Forum was held in the city of Shusha. The event was organized by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Export and Investment Promotion Agency – AZPROMO, the ECO Secretariat, and the ECO Chamber of Commerce and Industry Confederation.
The forum was held as part of the “ECO Week,” initiated for the first time by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. The event brought together government officials, representatives of ECO and other international organizations, as well as heads of chambers of commerce and industry from ECO member states.
Participants discussed the deepening of economic cooperation among member countries, regional investment opportunities, digitalization of transport and logistics systems, and the establishment of unified platforms to simplify customs procedures. It was emphasized that increased involvement of the private sector in shaping regional strategies, along with strengthening public-private partnerships on an institutional basis, is of great importance.
It should be noted that Vugar Abbasov, Vice President of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation, Chairman of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Entrepreneurs Confederation, and Founder of the “Cahan Group of Companies,” also took part in the forum.
