
On June 22, a regional meeting was held in the city of Sharur to discuss the State Program on the Development of Agricultural, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Production and Processing in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026–2030, approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated May 25, 2026, for the Nakhchivan Economic Region.
The meeting focused on the key objectives and priorities of the State Program, new support mechanisms for the agricultural sector, efficient use of water and land resources, development of agro-processing and logistics infrastructure, expansion of farmers’ access to modern agricultural services, state support measures, and other related issues.
The event was organized as part of the implementation of the instructions given by President Ilham Aliyev during the meeting on agricultural issues held on May 25 this year, as well as to ensure the coordinated, prompt, and effective implementation of the measures envisaged under the State Program across the regions.
The meeting was attended by representatives of state and government institutions, heads of executive authorities, farmers, and entrepreneurs. It should be noted that Vugar Abbasov, Vice President of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan and Chairman of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, also participated in the event.
