Sept 17: Azerbaijan-Iraq Business Forum held in Baku

On September 17, the Azerbaijan-Iraq Business Forum was held in Baku, organized jointly by the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Trade of Iraq, with support from the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of Iraq.

 

The event was attended by officials from both countries, as well as nearly 100 businessmen working in agriculture, food, logistics, construction, consulting, shipping, and other sectors. The executive team of “Cahan Group of Companies” also participated.

 

In his speech, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov emphasized that the historically rich Azerbaijan-Iraq relations have developed thanks to the visionary policies of the heads of state. Iraq’s Minister of Trade, Ater Dawood Al-Gureyri, stated that there are historic ties between the two countries and expressed his country’s interest in expanding relations with Azerbaijan.

 

It was noted that the signing of agreements and memoranda of understanding covering political, social, tourism, and transportation areas has further strengthened the partnership between the two countries.

The event began with a visit to the monument of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, majestically erected in the main square of Nakhchivan, where his memory was respectfully honored. The event continued at “Nakhchivan Palace,” where discussions focused on economic development in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, business, investment climate, and the role of entrepreneurship and the private sector in economic growth.

 

The event was opened with an introductory speech by Vuqar Abbasov, founder of “Cahan Group of Companies.” Representatives from the Authorized Representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the State Tax Service, Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation, Nakhchivan Entrepreneurs Confederation, and local entrepreneurs took part.

It was noted that the decree signed by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, on November 5, 2024, regarding the establishment of an Industrial Park in Nakhchivan represents another form of state support for private sector development, playing an important role in fostering state-private dialogue and cooperation.

 

Leaders of enterprises within “Cahan Group of Companies” also attended the event. The forum concluded with extensive discussions based on questions and proposals from the entrepreneurs.

December 26: General Assembly of the Union of Turkish Chambers held in Baku

The martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of our country are always respectfully remembered by Cahan Group of Companies, and their families are given care and attention.

 

In this regard, a group of employees from the Group, following an annual tradition, visited the home museums and families of martyrs from the villages of Qaraxanbəyli, Qaraçuq, and Tumbul—whose names are inscribed in history with golden letters. During the visits, the employees conveyed greetings from Vuqar Abbasov, Chairman of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Entrepreneurs (Employers) Confederation and founder of Cahan Group of Companies, and presented holiday gifts to the families. The group members expressed pride in the martyrs and prayed for God’s mercy upon them and patience for their families.

A meeting was held at “ENNA” LLC, part of the “Cahan Group of Companies,” jointly organized by the Nakhchivan Main Customs Department on its initiative and participation along with “Cahan Group of Companies.”

 

During the meeting, customs officers were closely acquainted with the company’s operations and the range of products manufactured. Vuqar Abbasov, Chairman of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Entrepreneurs Confederation and founder of “Cahan Group of Companies,” provided detailed information about the company. It was emphasized that “ENNA” LLC is the first company in the autonomous republic to start the production of energy drinks.

 

With this production, the demand for energy and soft drinks in the autonomous republic is met. The production volume of the company has been intensively increasing every year, and carbonated drinks are sold to various regions. Equipped with machinery imported from Turkey, Germany, and other European countries, the enterprise’s annual production capacity is 200 million cans operating in three shifts. The “ENNA” brand drinks, including “Plus Over,” “Buzz Tea,” “Buz Cola,” and “Dinamit,” are already exported to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, the United States, Russia, and Iran.

 

A specialist from the production facility gave customs officers detailed information about the stages of the manufacturing process. It was noted that the company’s “Testing Laboratory,” equipped with the latest equipment and devices, tests all products according to the program using available analysis and measurement instruments. It was also highlighted that after inspection by the delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Turkey, the factory, which met all standards, was awarded the title of “Safe Production Facility.”

 

At the meeting, Vuqar Aliyev, head of the Nakhchivan Main Customs Department and customs service Major General, provided detailed information about innovations implemented to speed up the customs clearance process. Feedback and suggestions within the framework of customs-business cooperation were heard, and questions were answered thoroughly. Import-export operation issues were also extensively analyzed.

The document was signed at an event titled “Turkic Investment Fund and Union of Turkish Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TCCI): Information Meeting and B2B for Business Leaders.” The memorandum was signed by Məmməd Musayev, President of TCCI and the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation (ASK), and Bağdat Amreyev, President of the Turkic Investment Fund. The memorandum outlines the framework and specific directions for cooperation.

 

It is worth noting that the founder of “Cahan Group of Companies,” Vuqar Abbasov, and the company’s executive team also participated in the event.

On April 11, the 6th meeting of the Azerbaijan–Moldova Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in Baku.

On April 11, the 6th meeting of the Azerbaijan–Moldova Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in Baku. 

 

The meeting focused on the development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of energy, transport, agriculture, technology transfer, and the expansion of trade turnover.

 

The event featured speeches by the Azerbaijani Co-Chair of the Commission, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov, and the Moldovan Co-Chair, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea.

 

At the end of the meeting, a Protocol outlining the outcomes of the 6th session was signed. The document envisions the further expansion of bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, agriculture, food safety, energy, transport, science and technology, humanitarian issues, healthcare, culture, intellectual property, environment, sports, and tourism. It is worth noting that the leadership of “Cahan Holding” also participated in the event.
